Sabre 1200 TLWD Freestanding Tower Kits
Sabre's model 1200 TLWD tower sections can be utilized as a freestanding structure for the following heights, wind speeds, and EPAs. All sections are 5-ft or 10-ft in length with 1.315-in OD Sch 40 legs and ⅜-in solid serpentine bracing.
The effects of torsion
have not
been considered in the EPA values shown. These EPA values are correct for symmetrically loaded instances where torque is not present (such as one top mounted antenna at the center of the tower, or three leg mounted panel antennas symmetrically mounted around the tower).
Should torque be present, the allowable EPA value shown will be reduced. In some cases this reduction will be significant. Please consult your TESSCO representative to determine if torque need be considered and how much the allowable EPA value will be reduced due to its inclusion.
The tower kits do not include a tapered top. A standard 5-ft or 10-ft straight section was considered at the top of the tower.
Tower designs are in accordance with ANSI/TIA/EIA-222-F-1996
All towers must have fixed bases. Pinned bases cannot be utilized.
For towers where the consideration of ½-in radial ice is either specified or prudent for the locale, the selected tower must meet all Effective Projected Area (EPA) requirements for
both
the ice and no ice condition.
Wind speeds shown with ½-in radial ice
are not
concurrent wind speeds. All towers designed with ½-in radial ice consider the standard EIA reduction in wind load with ice.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Design assumes one (1) ⅞-in transmission line and one (1) ½-in transmission line on each face.
Antennas and mounts are assumed to be placed at tower apex.
The tower kits do not include a tapered top. A standard 5-ft or 10-ft straight section was considered at the top of the tower.
ANSI/TIA/EIA-222-F-1996 recommends that designs be evaluated by a registered professional engineer for each specific application.
Designs assume towers are ground mounted with a dead weight of 600-lbs (no ice) and 900-lbs (with ½-in radial ice) applied at the top of the tower. Roof mounting will require an engineering review.
