What suggestions can I offer my customers to help them reduce memory effect?
1. Get a conditioning charger that completely discharges the battery and then automatically charges it, thus keeping the battery from developing memory effect.
2. Use LiOn or NiMH batteries that are less prone (although not immune) to memory effect.
3. With all batteries, have the customer try to fully discharge the battery periodically and try to not "top off" your battery.
4. If they use an in-car charger, they need to remember it’s charging their phone each time. Since an average battery has 200-300 charges, avoid plugging the phone in for short trips—and don’t leave the phone plugged into your cigarette lighter!
