How much inventory do you carry?

We carry the inventory to match our customers needs and your production cycle. We have not set a formula for the amount of inventory we will carry; ours is the optimization of the turns of an item and the gross profit. If your cycle time is 4-6 weeks, then we develop a purchasing model to match those lead times with our customers' needs. There are some inventory items that may have one turn, but more gross profit, and other inventory items that sell hundreds every day. We attempt to optimize the RETURN on our inventory. Is it easier for you to make an item on a special production run for 4 customers who buy twice a year, or for TESSCO to have those items in stock? Depending on your needs for capacity and customer satisfaction, we work out an arrangement for the customers, TESSCO, and you the manufacturer to be satisfied and to thrive.
