ENHANCEMENTS September 2007 - August, 2006Search Enhancements and GSA Ordering: Sep. 2007 Search Improvements
TESSCO.com has greatly improved the Advanced Search by adding new options. Take it for a test drive and see the following features: Select by GSA products and schedules (see below)  Product compatability: when you enter a wireless phone model name, such as RAZR, all accessories for the RAZR will now appear, with a phone "manufacturer/model" selection as you would use with the phone accessory search. This also applies to other products that have a relationship with related products, such as cable and connectors.  Suggestions: TESSCO.com has a new search algorithm that looks for words similar to what you entered, if few or no results are found. This is most often mis-spelling but can also include similar words - you will see a "did you mean..." Discontinued products: now you can request the inclusion of discontinued products in your search. The results will cover up to two years of products, so if you've ordered something in the past and it's no longer available, you can find it and identify either a substitute or alternative product. Better intelligence when no results: before telling you "no results," the engine will look through our substitute data, manufacturer part numbers (with and without hyphens) and product descriptions, increasing your chances of a match.
GSA-Approved Product OrderingTESSCO.com now allows Federal and State and Local customers to order GSA products online. This new feature introduces several ways to find the products, as well as an easy order process that lets you choose which plan you wish to use for that order (GSA or open market). Finding GSA products on TESSCO.comChoose from the options below: - There is a GSA Products page, with all the product categories containing at least one GSA-approved product
The GSA Products button will take you to the main GSA product page from wherever you are.Each appropriate product has a GSA flag when you search. - The Advanced Search lets you filter products by GSA — go to the "Additional Criteria" section.

Ordering GSA Products on TESSCO.comRegistered customers with TESSCO account numbers follow the same online order process as you have for other web orders.When you log in, the system will ask you to choose between your GSA and open market account. Find your products, add them to a worksheet and follow the orders process. Ordering open market products as well as GSAAs mentioned, you may choose to log in to your TESSCO account on either the GSA pricing program or your own open market account. The system tells you which account you're logged into. GSA and open market products may not be placed on the same order - the new order process will prompt you on how to handle orders where there's a mix of products. There is now a new menu structure, similar to Microsoft's platform, that shows features like "e-mail," "save," "rename" and the "cable wizard" toll under a menu at the top of the worksheet.

Buyers Assistance Program Shows Related Products While Buying: Oct. 2006 Customers often tell us in amazement, “I had no idea TESSCO carried that!” Now it’s much easier to see products that might be a great fit for your project or application, many of which you might not know we offer.
The new “Buyers Assistance” feature on TESSCO.com appears on your worksheet after you click Confirm Price. It displays the top five products—from any part of TESSCO’s broad and deep inventory—purchased by customers in your market when they’ve bought the same items on your worksheet. Because TESSCO.com’s latest feature reflects the buying patterns of customers like you, you might gain useful insights to enhance your project. Assisted Buying makes sure you don’t miss out on a new item or a product you weren’t aware of.
Powerful New Design and Imrpoved Searches: August 2006Home Page TESSCO's new home page will convey the same crisp and clean look of The Wireless Guide, TESSCO's industry-leading catalog. Check out the sharp new images, improved navigation with the searches and buttons, and direct access to the Manufacturers and Brands page.
Product Category Search Pages TESSCO.com now helps you quickly identify the content of the category search pages, with collages at the top of the main Product page, each page for the Lines of Business such as Network Infrastructure, and all the specific product categories such as Base Antennas.
New How-To Applications now appear on the relevant search pages, enabling you to see the integrated solutions most closely related to your selected product area. Note: All 52 How-To Applications are now interactive. Find New Products Using Date Restriction Feature Many customers have asked us how you can find the latest products from TESSCO. Now you can use the new date restriction feature to show only the products introduced in the last 30, 60 or 90 days. This search will work when you're using the Advanced Search and when you use the Manufacturer by Model search.
Easier Management of Acknowledgements While OrderingIf you have orders that require you to check off many "acknowledgement" boxes, you'll appreciate the new feature that lets you click one button to "accept all," saving you time and aggravation. NOTE: Log-In Now Required to Find Certain Products OnlineIf your organization buys products that are specially packaged or configured for you, TESSCO wants to ensure these products are visible only to your company's employees. A log-in will now be required before these products will appear in searches. Please be sure you log in immediately upon coming to TESSCO.com - the log-in box is easily accessible from the home page, individual market pages and under My Account. And checking "remember my logon information" can make it fast and easy.

Order Status and Additional Updates: April 2006Many of you expressed frustration that orders you placed weren't visible on TESSCO.com immediately. You had to place a call to us to confirm we got it. Sometimes you even ended up placing another order. Order Status Now Available Online! See Your Orders Immediately
Under My Account/My Orders, you will now see your orders immediately instead of having to click to them. Up to 150 appear, with a new "Status" column that indicates whether the order has been Shipped, Delivered or is In Process (note: if the field is blank, just click on the transaction number for details). Order Tracking and Print Invoice are conveniently located in the upper right-hand corner, and you'll also see buttons to access the  Advanced Order Search and View All Back-Orders. Clicking the transaction number will lead you to the order details. Resort by Clicking Column HeadersYou can click on most of the column headers to resort the orders to meet you needs Order Details Page Now Displays Images The Order Details page now features an easy-to-use format that shows you images of each product (which you can enlarge). You will see a "Print Invoice" icon in the far-right column for easy use. You can also "clone" your previous orders by checking the boxes in the far left column and hitting the "Add to Worksheet" button.
 Container IDs Posted
The new Order Tracking details page also shows you the specific container ID for your order if the shipment didn't go in one container. Additional FeaturesProduct Search: TESSCO has added fields for model number and model name in the "common search" found in the upper left of every page. This will now find product or model names such "canopy," "eclipse" and "ipod" that have not produced any results before. Of course you'll still want to use the Advanced Search if you don't get results that meet your needs. Product Display:A change to the product item display allows for bullet headings to create present information more effectively. “Add to Worksheet” has been turned from a text link to a button on product display pages, making it easier to find. Worksheet:They now support multi-quantity discount SKUs, so larger orders in a promotional program can now be ordered online.

We have developed highly targeted market pages that can function as your home page. You’ll want to check back often for the latest “What’s New” features in the left menu and selected banners of hot new products and programs.
When you log in from the home page, you’ll be taken directly to your market page. You’ll also see custom information for your  account, making it easier than ever to view all your worksheets or track an order. Additional Areas of InterestThe newest version of TESSCO.com contains many other features and links, including an improved order process (see below), information on our new Pricing and Delivery program, easy ordering of the TESSCO Solutions Guide if you don’t have one, and much more. Technical Overview- The site will now offer you specific delivery availability—by day and date, encompassing factors such as time of order (before 8 p.m. EST), product restrictions, etc..
- The order flow has been changed slightly to make buying easier. You are now requested to log-in only after requesting Price and Availability, (rather than before starting your order worksheet).
- A convenient new feature will be the display of your purchases on each line item in Step 2, order confirmation, of checkout. And, you may also notice a slight change in the presentation of delivery information.
- The label on worksheet now reads "List Price" rather than "Price."
- Product displays will now anchor to the TESSCO SKU (rather than the manufacturer part number).
- Some sorting problems in the tables (such as mounts that were not sorting alphabetically by the car manufacturer) have been resolved.
