Tutorial: Order Flow, Order Options, and Payment Type
TESSCO.com features an improved ordering flow. We have reduced the number of pages (and therefore time) necessary to complete your online orders. With only two pages, the new order flow allows you to review and place your order faster than ever before.
Reviewing Your Worksheet
Once you have created a worksheet containing all the items you wish to order, along with the correct quantities, click the "Confirm Price" button in the upper right-hand corner.
The worksheet will update, showing you the list price and your qualified pricing. At the bottom of the worksheet select the date you would like the order delivered (note the blue arrove above). TESSCO deliveres what you need, when and where you need it! When you are satisfied with the information provided on the worksheet, continue to the order options section by clicking on the yellow "Continue" button.
Selecting Your Order Options & Payment Type
When selecting your order options, you have the opportunity to choose:
Basic Order Options are shown first. You will be asked to enter a purchase order number for the order. If you do not with to use a formal P.O. number, a simple "name" or date for the order will suffice. You will also be asked for the phone number of a contact for that order (if there is not already one listed in your account).
Delivery Information is next. This provides you the opportunity to choose the desired method of delivery for back-ordered products and options regarding partial delivery. You will only be asked abuot partial delivery if an item(s) is not currently in stock.
This screen also affords you the option of changing the delivery address of your order. By default TESSCO.com will show the delivery address for your corporate TESSCO account (and location, if applicable). To make a change, simply click on the yellow "Edit" button (marked with the second green arrow) above the displayed delivery address.
Payment Type is the third area to review. TESSCO.com will offer you the default payment terms (such as credit card, net30, electronic funds transfer, etc.) for your corporate TESSCO account. Should you wish to use a payment type other than the displayed terms (for example, your account qualifies for net30, but you would like to use a credit card) click on the radio button next to the form of payment (see blue arrows, above) you wish to use.
For our credit card customers, TESSCO also offers flexible payment terms. The net30 account setup application is located on our Credit & Finance page under "Financial Forms".
Advanced Options are also available. To access advanced options click the yellow "More" button next to "Basic Order Options" (first green arrow, above). From this screen you can add contact information, which will appear on the purchase order, number and location of invoices, a delivery confirmation notice (an email or fax telling you the order has shipped), and special delivery instructions. The special instructions feature allows you to write comments that will appear in the body of the invoice or instruct TESSCO to follow certain steps to ensure the delivery of your order.
When you are finished entering your order options, click on the yellow "Continue" button to proceed.
Reviewing Your Order Options
On the second and final order page, you can review the items ordered, availability, shipping/billing addresses, delivery options, etc. If you have a problem with any of these options, click the "edit" link at the top of the order to return to Step 1. If everything is satisfactory, you have three options.
1. Place Order: If you are ready to place the order, click this button. Please remember that this page serves as your P.O. for the order. Be sure to email it to the appropriate person or print it for your records. Upon clicking "Place Order", the order will be placed immediately and you will receive a TESSCO transaction number.
2. Email: If you need approval or confirmation before you place the order, you can email the completed worksheet to a colleague. NOTE: You can also email the worksheet after you receive your transaction number.
3. Reserve: The "Reserve" button allows qualified accounts to reserve items temporarily while you take the appropriate steps to complete the order (i.e. get a P.O. signature).
Note: Completed orders will appear within five muntes in Order History. Order Tracking, and Print Invoice will function after the order has been picked up by the carrier.
