Tutorial: Order Status & Backorder ReviewNow you can check the status of items that are unavailable for delivery and see how confident we are that the product will be delivered by the expected date. If you need a product right away, you can also use TESSCO.com to find alternatives for back-ordered items. Products that are out-of-stock can be viewed in two scenarios: 1) when placing a new order and 2) when checking the status of an existing order. Scenario 1: Placing a New OrderOnce you have built a worksheet containing the items you plan to order, click "Confirm Price" in the upper right hand corner of the worksheet. The worksheet will update and show you expected availability and your price. If a product is in stock, it will show "NOW" in the "Exptected Availability" column. Should an item not be immediately available, you will see an estimated arrival date (to TESSCO) if a date has been provided by the manufacturer.
A substitue or alternative may be available for your desired item. Please reivew our product substitution tutorial for more information. Should you choose to keep items on your order which are not currently available, TESSCO.com will ask you later how to partial your order. While still at the worksheet stage, choose your delivery choice at the bottom of the worksheet, then click on "continue". This delivery date applies to items which are available NOW. How do I partial my order? While in "Step 1 of 2", TESSCO.com will ask how to deliver your unavailalbe items via three questions. These questions are located directly below your purchase order number & phone number specifications and will NOT appear if all items are currently available.
Simply choose the partial delivery method which fits your order's need. Remember, TESSCO charges our performance and delivery guranatee each time a delivery is sent out, so multiple partial deliveries may result in higher delivery charges for your overall order. Important: TESSCO does not guarantee estimated delivery dates and is not liable for any delays beyond the estimated date. Scenario 2: Checking the Status of a Previously Placed Order
You will see the TESSCO transaction number, your location, your Purchase Order number, and whether or not there was partial delivery specified for each item. "Now that I’ve seen product availability, what should I do next?"Keeping Delayed Products on OrderIf the estimated delivery date meets your needs, you don’t need to do anything. The items will be delivered according to the shipping request on your original order. Finding Alternative ProductsTESSCO.com allows you to locate substitue or alternative products. Begin by adding the orignally backordered item to a TESSCO.com worksheet. You then have three choices if the estimated delivery date doesn’t meet your needs: 1) Use the "Find Alternative" WizardAfter adding the backordered item to a worksheet, click on "confirm price". If a substitute or alternative is listed you may click on the "Find Alternative" or "Find Substitue" link next to the line item that is not currently available. *It is important that you check the new item specifications carefully to make sure the two products are interchangeable. The "Find Alternatives" feature is an automated version of the Solutions Guide Search on TESSCO.com. The results may not be true substitutes, but they are all members of the same TESSCO grouping. Although the products are similar, some may contain dissimilar parts. 2) Put TESSCO to the Test! -- Use the Product Request FormAnother way you can find an alternative for a backordered product is by filling out our brief Product Request Form. We promise to look into your inquiry and get back to you within 24 hours. You can access the form simply by clicking the Put TESSCO to the test! link located on the right side of the Order Status Page. 3) Call a TESSCO Customer Service RepresentativeIf you still can’t find a suitable alternative, don’t hesitate to call a TESSCO team member at 1-800-472-7373. Making Changes to a BackorderShould you need to make any changes to a previously placed backorder, please call our sales team at 1-800-472-7373. Please have your TESSCO account number or transaction number handy.
