    Tutorial: Setting User Preferences

    TESSCO.com makes it easy to customize your online TESSCO experience.  Simply move over "My Account" at the top and then click on "Preferences".  You may also access the preferences page directly from your TESSCO.com worksheet — choose the "Tools" menu, and then "Preferences".

    The preference page is divided into five logical tabs — they are:  worksheet, login, contact info, address, and default location.

    Worksheet

    You may chagne how TESSCO.com displays and stores your worksheets via the worksheet tab (with the red arrow, above).

    • "Automatically delete worksheet:" this is set to "Yes," so as soon as you place an order, your worksheet is deleted. To retain worksheets, click "No" and "Save Changes" 
    • "Display list of worksheets:" this is set to automatically bring up worksheets that you've created. You can change this to worksheets created by everyone in your location, or in your overall TESSCO account. If you default to your worksheets, you can still see all the other worksheets by clicking the "List Worksheets" button on the Worksheet page,
    • "Set my default worksheet" allows you to control the specific worksheet you see when you log in. The default is set to "New" - if you prefer to have the "last worksheet you had open" (best if you like to build a worksheet over a few days) or "a specific worksheet" (best if you have one template and like to save under a different name), just click those options and "Save Changes."

    TESSCO.com also allows you to customize your worksheet by choosing which data fields are shown.  For example, user "John" might want to see availability and extended price while user "Suzie" might want to see list price only.  The bottom half of the "worksheet' tab gives you control over what you see while creating, editing, or completing your worksheet.

    Log In

    This tab (with the orange arrow, at top) enables you to change your TESSCO.com password and how TESSCO.com stores your user information.

    • To change your password, enter your current password and your new one.  Then click on "Save Changes" and it will be updated immediately.
    • You can also control how your log in information is saved on TESSCO.com. You can select "Auto-fill e-mail address" and "Auto-fill password." These will bring your e-mail and password (as *********) without your having to re-enter them. In a nutshell, this option increases your convenience but is less secure, if you're concerned that someone might log in from your computer. You can also decide whether to show a confirmation box each time you've successfully logged in. Again, click "Save Changes" if you change your selections.

    Contact Name

    The green arrow tab (at top) allows you to chagne your contact name information and your email address registered with TESSCO.  Remember to click on "Save Changes" in this section when finished making chnages.

    Primary Billing & Delivery Address

    This tab (with the blue arrow) gives you the ability to change your location's billing and delivery address.  If this address changes, or you want to change the default location because that's your most common delivery point, make the changes here and "Save Changes."  A TESSCO account manager may call you to confirm these changes.

    Please note that address changes may take up to 24 hours to be reflected on TESSCO.com.

    Default Location

    This gray-arrowed tab (at top) gives you the power to associated your login with a new location on the same account.  For example, you work for the same company but have moved from their Washington, DC location to the Philadelphia, PA location.  Simply choose the new location to which you wish to assicate.  This chnage will be submitted to TESSCO for review and you may be contacted by your account manager for verification.
