    Tutorial: Tune Configuration

    TESSCO.com makes it easy to configure tuned antennas and filters.  With the exception of factory tuned items, TESSCO provides this tuning service with any antenna or filter order.  Simply enter your specifications and TESSCO does the rest!

    The TESSCO Product Configurator has been designed to easily allow tuning specification with your atenna or filter order.  This tool is launced directly from your TESSCO.com worksheet by simply clicking on an icon and then walks you through selecting the TESSCO tune serive (yes or no) and specifying the needed frequency or frequencies.  When finished, a configured antenna or filter is added to your worksheet. 

    Antenna Tuning

    Effective June 1, 2008 a modest $30 tuning fee will be charged for each antenna tuned by TESSCO.  If you select TESSCO to tune your antenna, you will not see the $30 fee on your worksheet.  The fee will be added after your order has been completed and you will be contacted with the final cost of your order.

    To luanch the configurator click on the tuning fork icon next to the antenna sku (red arrow, below).  Notice how TESSCO.com presents a worksheet alert (highlighted in yellow) which states:  "Indicated items require tuning or configuration.  Click on the indicator to provide this information."

    The configurator will then appear, requiring three steps:

    • Do you want TESSCO to tune?   (Type "yes" or "no".)
    • What is the frequency?  Enter your needed frequency for the antenna.
    • Click on the yellow "Save" incon in the upper-right corner.

    TESSCO.com will now take you back to your worksheet.   Notice how comments were added to your worksheet (see below) showing your TESSCO tune request and antenna frequency.  After you have finished adding products to your worksheet, select your desired delivery date at the bottom of the worksheet.

    Some additional information to keep in mind:
    • If you do NOT want TESSCO to tune your antenna, simply choose "NO" to TESSCO tuning and enter "Field Tune" in the frequency field.
    • For multiples of the same antenna using different frequencies, enter separate line items for each antenna.  Do not combine them into qty 2, 3, etc.
    • Antenna tuning will delay the delivery of your order.  For example, a next-day delivery might arrive in two days if the order contains a tune request.  Please keep this in mind when ordering tuned items or any product where TESSCO is performing a value-added service.  Should an extended delivery delay be necessary, a TESSCO team member will contact you.

    Filter Tuning (i.e. Duplexers & Combiners)

    Filters, such as duplexers, diplexers, and combiners, are also usually tunable.  If the filter is not a factory-tuned product, TESSCO can provide this service for you at no cost.

    To luanch the configurator click on the tuning fork icon next to the antenna sku (red arrow, below).  Notice how TESSCO.com presents a worksheet alert (highlighted in yellow) which states:  "Indicated items require tuning or configuration.  Click on the indicator to provide this information."

    The configurator will then appear, asking you several questions:

    • Do you want TESSCO to tune?   (Choose "yes" or "no".)
    • What are the needed frequencies (such as transmit and receive)?  Enter your needed frequencies for the filter.

    Next, click on the yellow "Save" icon in the upper-right corner.

    TESSCO.com will now take you back to your worksheet.   Notice how comments were added to your worksheet along with a TESSCO tune labor sku showing your TESSCO tune request, filter frequencies, and $0 labor charge.  After you have finished adding products to your worksheet, choose your desired delivery date at the bottom of the worksheet.
