Be Prepared with Long-life Emergency Batteries

In emergency situations, sometimes you do not have time to change your batteries, yet you need a battery you can rely on. The solution is Multiplier high-capacity primary lithium batteries. These non-rechargeable batteries have a shelf life of 10 years, making them perfect for grab-and-go operations. They are lightweight yet pack a punch, lasting up to three times longer than alkaline batteries and up to two times longer than many rechargeable batteries. Keep your radio operational when you need it most.

Ensure Maximum Reliability for Emergency Service with a Wireless Redundant Ring

A municipality can interconnect all of its locations by creating a wireless redundant ring for its two-way radio systems and other networks.  This means that should one link in the ring go down, the system will automatically reroute the traffic another way, maintaining critical communications. RAD's Megaplex and Airmux radio work together as a powerful unlicensed back-up system - in fact, many customers find the RAD solution so reliable they use it as their primary network!

    RAD Megaplex Modular Multiplexer

The Megaplex-2100 is a flexible TDM Integrating Access Device for the integration of multiple dedicated data, voice, ISDN, video and LAN channels onto multiple main network links. The Megaplex 2100 features a traffic payload of up to 124 DS0 timeslots. The modular design and wide choice of I/O modules. Built-in, non-blocking, DS0 cross-connect matrix enables freely routing any channel's timeslots to any link so the Megaplex can maximize efficiency by splitting voice and data channels and redirecting the traffic, via separate links, to the appropriate service.

4.9GHz  Airmux-200 Short Range, Complete Ethernet Link

The Airmux-200 provides high-capacity connectivity of up to 48Mbps and allows for the rapid deployment of Ethernet links at a fraction of the cost of laying fiber or of leased-line services. The Airmux-200 is a carrier-class, high-capacity and low-cost point-to-point broadband wireless transmission system, transporting Ethernet services over the 4.9GHz unlicensed band (2.4, 2.5 and 5.8GHz band models are available as well). Standard warranty includes 24x7 phone support and next business day replacement.

    Featured Program: GSA Online Ordering

TESSCO now offers online searching and ordering of GSA products for Sate and Local Governments! You are eligible to buy from TESSCO's IT-70 (Information Technology) schedule.

    2. You can also browse the IT-70 schedule exclusively - go to Information Technology. This works best if you don't have a specific search phrase in mind and want to see what TESSCO offers on this schedule
    3. Each appropriate product has a GSA flag when you search (this flag is for all GSA products, not just IT-70).
    4. The sub-menu under "Products" has a "GSA" option

    Ordering GSA Products on TESSCO.com

Registered customers with TESSCO account numbers follow the same online order process as you have for other web orders. When you log in, the system will ask you to choose between your "GSAL program"  and open market account. Find your products, add them to a worksheet and follow the orders process.

Ordering open market products as well as GSA

As mentioned, you may choose to log in to your TESSCO account on either the GSAL pricing program or your own open market account. The system tells you which account you're logged into. IT-70 and open market products may not be placed on the same order - the new order process will prompt you on how to handle orders where there's a mix of products. We make it very easy to build and place the second order online.

    Katrina Panel Report Generates
    FCC Back-up Power Requirement

    by Richard P. Biby, P. E.

A major change for the siting industry comes in the form of an order from the FCC that may prove to be Katrina Tower Disasterexpensive for carriers and a boon for generator manufacturers.

The FCC has taken several initiatives that affect tower owners or its licensees or both.

The biggest change for the wireless infrastructure industry is found in paragraph 77 of an Order the FCC released on June 8.

The paragraph reads, "We will require all local exchange carriers (LECs), including incumbent LECs (ILECs) and competitive LECs (CLECs), as well as commercial mobile radio service (CMRS) providers to have... [Continue reading]

GSAGSA Schedule IT-70 lets state and local governments buy selected products at federally-negotiated GSA prices; these include security cameras, wireless broadband products, antennas, coaxial cable, connectors, amplifiers, tower/site support components and more. You can relax knowing GSA has already determined these prices to be fair and reasonable, synopsis is not required and you can issue new BPAs under the contract.
