Solectek's new SkyWay-MAX system offers several important advantages to help service providers, WISPs and others that want to replace their DSL, cable or proprietary systems
- Ease of installation: Solectek's system offers an all-in-one outdoor base station with no authentication server required, a single uplink cable for the base station (running power, data and GPS signal), no "authorized installer" required to get or keep warranty or tech support, and an out-of-the-box management system with no licensing fees or hidden charges.
- Power: This is a critical area rarely discussed with WiMAX systems. The SkyWay-MAX Base station has a 4W amp and can do up to 200W EIRP. The CPE has over 10W EIRP, only needs seven watts, and while most competing CPE are at 20 dB, Solectek performs at 26 dB (100mW vs. 400mW).
- Scalability: A single sector PoP can scale to 3 sectors with GPS synching and no wasted CAPEX—so you throw nothing away. This is not a "little-box-to-big-box" scale system. With no license fees to add more than X-number of subscribers to a sector, you can add up to the physical limit on the sector. And WiMAX allows for 1024 connections to a sector.
