Towers and Monopoles

If you already know what you need, you can find it below:
There are three major considerations for choosing the correct tower style for your application:

Monopoles are an ideal solution where space is a premium and aesthetics are a must. A simple, sleek design, Rohn's pre-engineered monopoles, exclusively available through TESSCO, require as little as 3 square feet for installation and rise up to 100 feet above ground level. In many jurisdictions, monopoles up to 70 feet do not require zoning approval (significantly reducing installation costs), making them an ideal solution for urban and suburban areas. With delivery and installation possible in as short as one week, and at a cost that is often competitive to other mounting alternatives, Monopoles are an ideal solution for many broadband, microwave and cellular applications in urban and suburban areas.

While self-supporting towers have a larger footprint than monopoles, their structural
design often enables them to carry more wind loading at a lower cost than monopoles. Trylon’s revolutionary off-the-shelf SuperTitan and Titan tower series offer more than 100 in-stock configurations up to 190 feet above ground level—meeting most loading requirements and budgets. With so many options available, the SuperTitan is a reliable solution for meeting budget constraints on many broadband, SCADA, LMR and microwave applications. For very-light loading requirements, there is no better solution in the marketplace than the Trylon Titan series. From the heavier-duty SuperTitan, made of ¼” angle galvanized angle iron, to the lighter-weight Titan, a reliable tower for more than 25 years, Trylon provides the premier solution to your tower needs.

The substantial footprint of a guy tower allows them to be constructed to substantial heights with greater loading than both monopoles and self-support towers, such as television towers, making them ideal for large microwave, broadcast and LMR applications. With identical three-sided, 10-foot sections stacked one on top of the other, guyed towers are secured by guy wire anchored on three sides away from the tower base. Unlike the other options, guyed towers do not taper as they rise; each section is the same width with welded cross braces securing three vertical round (hollow or solid) tower legs. Guyed towers require components such as guy wire, thimbles, guy brackets, pier pins, anchor rod and turnbuckles.
Guyed tower sections can also be installed at shorter heights using a buried concrete foundation or non-penetrating rooftop mount, which do not require guy wire for additional support. Using self-supporting guy tower sections is a perfect solution for low-height, light-loading applications, such as broadband and SCADA. TESSCO carries products from two premier guyed tower manufacturers.
