Dark Territory Switch Monitoring PTC System

GE Transportation and TESSCO have just announced their partnership to provide the railroad industry an advanced turnkey Dark Territory Switch Monitoring PTC System (DTSMS). Designed to minimize installation time, the DTSMS ships fully assembled to reduce total cost of ownership.

This solution features a fully integrated power supply and RF communications system with radio, when available, in support of GE’s market-leading Wayside Interface Unit for PTC applications. The power source can be grid tie AC or solar, with designs available to serve southern, central and northern geographic locations. The RF communications system features an 8-ft, 220 MHz antenna mounted to the industry’s only True Positive Stop articulating mast for safe ground level access, and is available in 20-ft, 40-ft and 60-ft versions to meet topographical requirements.

Clean Cab Radio for Locomotives

The Ritron Clean Cab Radio (RCCR) is designed with state-of-the-art RF technology to provide onboard voice communication for freight and transit railroad operations. The radio is available in both one- or two-piece remote head models and is fully compliant with the January 1, 2013 FCC mandate for narrowband operation. It supports wideband and narrowband operation and can be easily upgraded via a plug-in board to support digital communication using the NXDN digital standard at 6.25 KHz.
