The BATS solution is an innovative technology that optimizes the reliability of any broadband radio by locating, locking and tracking any broadband communication system, for both mobile-to-stationary and mobile-to-mobile applications.
BATS integrates your broadband point-to-point or point-to-multipoint radios with its pan-tilt aiming chassis using tracking technology to create search patterns and predictive algorithms that automatically locate a desired connection point, establish communications and track performance, even if one or both of the wireless broadband radios is moving. End result: users are achieving dramatic increases in distances and capabilities of their broadband communications equipment, with rapid deployment.

Introduction to BATS
Technology and Tracking Overview
Because BATS combines the benefits of a point-to-point system with mobility, it focuses a radio signal into a narrow beam, so the connection can be maintained over longer distances and is less vulnerable to interference. Stationary systems or moving vehicles can obtain real-time access to data, Voice-over-IP (VoIP), and streaming video—for a wide variety of applications.
Business Problems Solved
It is difficult to manually align antennas.
You require rapid deployment of your wireless network.
The systems have unknown or little information associated with the direction to friendly access points, or need auto repositioning.
There are limited skilled resources to deploy wireless systems.
Your network requires frequent antenna re-alignment due to natural causes or equipment movement.
You need mobile-to-mobile broadband communications over long distances utilizing directional antennas.
Markets Served
Oil and gas exploration and production (offshore and terrestrial).
Military (land, air, sea, e.g. ship-to-air/shore, air-to-air/ground, pilotless drones to attack helicopters.)
Homeland Security (border and port).
Emergency response and temporary communications.
Maritime.
Construction.
Mining, agriculture, and rural development.
Rural markets (ISP coverage for homeowners, communication on large farms).

Critical Emergency Management Communications Platform
A Louisiana parish required a rapidly deployable mobile command center to provide on-site command and control at disaster sites and to act as a redundant 911 call center. Disaster preparedness is a high priority in Louisiana. Redundancy and mobility are crucial for governmental organizations to be able to respond quickly and effectively when disasters occur. Rapid deployment of communication systems between all public service organizations is critical to effective disaster response. Traditionally, on-site disaster response has been limited by deployment time, the high levels of technical expertise required, and a high level of complexity due to multiple communications platforms.

Vessel-to-Vessel Broadband for Leading Geophysical Services Company
An oil and gas service provider performing deep water sub-ocean surface imaging required critical vessel-to-vessel broadband communications for a new fleet configuration employing full-azimuth (FAZ) Dual Coil Shooting. This new mapping technology provides greater accuracy of survey data in the most difficult environments by providing improved azimuthal coverage and a higher signal-to-noise ratio. This first of its kind multi-client FAZ survey technology demanded connectivity beyond the reach of their existing wireless network. The service provider uses wireless network connectivity to control and synchronize production activity throughout the fleet as well as provide inter-vessel data transfers.

Automatic Mobile Antenna Tracking System for Emergency Response Vehicles
The BATS AMATS-100 System is BATS next generation of Automatic Mobile Antenna Tracking Systems (AMATS) providing critical real-time data, voice and video via wireless broadband in minutes. AMATS-100 is a pre-assembled, ready-to-use unit which seamlessly integrates radio, antenna, GPS, auto-aiming device and BATS power control unit. When normal wireless broadband communications break down, BATS’ AMATS uniquely maintains high-bandwidth and provides real-time fail-over and network recovery. The AMATS-100 System (14.7” wide x 15” tall) can deliver uninterrupted high bandwidth wireless network with moving vehicles over great distances, BATS has successfully established broadband communications up to 48 MB/sec at 10 kilometers.
The BATS AMATS-100 System requires minimal technical knowledge from its users to deploy broadband communications. AMATS is preconfigured to automatically on power up quickly locate, lock and track communication access points. The system’s ultrafast time-saving features allow workers to focus on the bigger job at hand and not communications.
The BATS AMATS-300 (27.5” wide x 28.3” tall) employs the same technological innovation as the AMATS-100, yet harbors a very powerful antenna/radio system which provides high-bandwidth communications over vast distances. When normal wireless broadband communications breakdown, the AMATS-300 System delivers an uninterrupted high-bandwidth wireless network with moving vehicles up to 100 MB/sec at 40 kilometers, with ample connectivity over 60 kilometers.

Antenna Tracking System Features 360-Degree Rotation
Introduced in spring 2010, the BTS-3300 System is a next-generation self-aligning antenna and tracking system with 360-degree continuous rotation designed by BATS. BATS technology will automatically reposition the directional broadband antenna to track mobile devices or access points, and continuously optimize the connection for maximum throughput. This unique tracking capability is an industry-first feature that allows moving vehicles to obtain real-time access to resources inherent to broadband communications, including data, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and streaming video.
The BTS-3300 is an open platform and can integrate seamlessly with any wireless broadband radio/antenna combination, in any frequency. The system can be rapidly deployed as a rack-mount unit or a hardened stand-alone appliance.
Additionally, the BTS-3300 has been highly optimized and significantly reduces the time and technical skills required to deploy. Once it has been configured, the system can be operated remotely via the BATS comprehensive remote management system.
The BTS-3300 is ideal for oil and gas exploration, offshore and terrestrial production, military, Homeland Security (border/port), emergency response, maritime, construction, mining and agriculture applications.
