Wireless Links Go BATS Over New Antenna Tracking System

As a result of the recent integration of BridgeWave’s high-capacity gigabit wireless links with the automatic antenna aiming and tracking technology developed by Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems (BATS), service providers, government, and enterprise users, now have the power to deploy gigabit Ethernet networks for fixed-to-mobile or mobile-to-mobile applications. The antenna tracking technology is made possible via BATS’ pan-tilt aiming chassis to which BridgeWave’s wireless radios are mounted.

Bridgewave BATS SystemKnown for delivering reliable, gigabit Ethernet wireless connections for fixed, point-to-point applications, BridgeWave strengthens their product portfolio by integrating all radio systems with BATS industry-first antenna tracking technology. This cements BridgeWave’s leading position as the only company delivering wireless full-rate gigabit Ethernet systems that provide continuous network connectivity during movement on one or both ends of the network.

The integrated solution takes constant readings from the BridgeWave radio, forwards them to the BATS controller, which in turn creates search patterns and predictive algorithms that automatically locate a desired connection point and establishes communications, tracking one or both ends of the link. The technology behind this solution greatly reduces the time to establish a connection. Manually deploying wireless broadband networks without this technology requires additional personnel and takes hours to set up for perfect alignment. Radio systems based on the integrated BridgeWave/BATS solution are easily deployable—removing the need for additional personnel. The system will automatically locate and lock signal position within one to two minutes, providing instantaneous gigabit connectivity.

This new offering allows BridgeWave to expand applications for its wireless gigabit Ethernet links to include offshore ship-to-shore, ship-to-ship, and armed services communications, including, fixed-to-remote applications where communications are established between a command center and remote facility; and mobile-to-mobile applications where one or two ends of a network are in constant movement. In situations where temporary communications is needed, response teams will now have the ability to quickly deploy and configure a high-speed, high-capacity wireless network.

    Gigabit Ethernet Solutions

BridgeWave wireless backhaul and wireless point-to-point solutions compllement metropolitan-area network needs including Leased Line Replacement, Security & IP Video Surveillnce, Mobile Backhaul and Fixed Networks. (See network applications below for more details).

    BridgeWave Gigabit Ethernet Products

BridgeWave products offer operators a choice of both 60 GHz and 80 GHz gigabit wireless links. Both technologies offer superior interference immunity and data security. The 60 GHz links provide added flexibility of deployment anytime/anyplace. The 80 GHz links provide additional range in a licensed-band solution featuring instant on-line link registration.

    FlexPort Gigabit Ethernet Wireless Links

The FlexPort family of high capacity millimeter wave radios and software offers carriers, service providers, government and enterprise users the ultimate flexibility in an access and aggregation/backhaul solution for today’s legacy SDH/SONET-based networks, while seamlessly providing a future-proof transition to enable tomorrow’s Ethernet-based applications.

    80 GHz Wireless Bridges

BridgeWave 80 GHz gigabit wireless Ethernet bridges deliver outstanding performance, reliability and security for those seeking the leading GigE wireless point-to-point bridge solution in the industry. These include the AR80X , FE80XU, the BW80X and the GE80X For shorter distances (up to 5 miles) BridgeWave offers the AR80, the FE80U, the BW80 and the GE80 .

    BridgeWave’s BW80 & BW80X (extended range) links60 GHz Wireless Bridges

BridgeWave 60 GHz wireless Ethernet bridges — which includes the FE60U, GE60, AR60 and AR60X models — provide wireless gigabit performance with robust wireless network security features. BridgeWave wireless bridges offer a cost-effective alternative to fiber-based network solutions for metro Ethernet applications.

    SLE100 Seamless LAN Wireless Extender

BridgeWave’s BW80 & BW80X (extended range) links BridgeWave's SLE100 60 GHz wireless network extender offers a simple, license-free and cost-effective half-mile wireless extender solution that can easily integrate into existing networks. Encryption software and extended warranties are available.

    BridgeWave Point-to-Point Network Applications

    Leased Line Replacement

BridgeWave utilizes wireless gigabit links to provide a high performance fiber optic replacement at significant savings compared to leased lines for metropolitan area networks.

    Security

BridgeWave's secure enterprise wireless solution makes signal interception or jamming virtually impossible. The built-in 256-bit AES data encryption provides the strongest encryption available.

    Mobile Backhaul

With worldwide adoption of the 80 GHz spectrum band underway, 80 GHz links are well-positioned to fulfill a critical enabling role for emerging 4G mobile deployments.

    Fixed Networks

BridgeWave 60 GHz and 80 GHz wireless links support gigabit data rates and offer operators a cost-effective wireless fiber alternative without having the resort to the use of multiple frequency bands and equipment models.
