Rackmount Power Solutions for Low-Power 48-Volt Sources

As the demand for low-power 48-volt DC sources grows with the increasing number of applications in the microwave and Power over Ethernet (PoE) arenas, DuraComm has announced the addition of the 548 and 548M to the RM Series power supplies. These units provide 5 amps (max) with 80 percent efficiency and N+1 redundancy. In addition, the new SM-250-48, a power block module, can be used as a replacement /spare for the RM-548s or in standalone OEM applications.

Power distribution to multiple devices just got easier and more economical with the DP-10-LED Series. Each offers 10 ATC fused circuits with LEDs for indication of circuit condition (open/closed). The series was developed specifically for enclosed environments with multiple racks and the need for a quick and easy visual signifier.

Heat is considered to be the No. 1 enemy of all electronics, especially in enclosed settings. The DCF Fan Tray Series offers a simple and cost-effective solution to the everyday operational heat problem. Need zero downtime? The RU2-UPS can keep your critical equipment running between an AC fail condition and a generator startup. Now available in two configurations are the 3012 with 30 amps at 13.8 volts DC and the 1524 with 15 amps at 27.5 volts DC. Each unit can provide up to seven minutes of battery backup time at full load.

Protect your systems from problems caused by over discharging

Discharging batteries beyond a critical low voltage level can damage them and/or the load, plus may result in a longer recharge interval. A low voltage disconnect (LVD) prevents this condition. The LVD stops battery damage (by monitoring battery voltage and disconnecting the load when it falls below a preset threshold level) that comes from over discharging while protecting equipment that is sensitive to low voltage during battery operation.

Virtually Seamless Transfer to Battery Backup

Originally developed for Cellular Repeater Sites requiring battery back up (i.e. no down time), the DCS-N1 offers “N + 1” Redundancy, i.e. a virtually seamless transfer to battery backup the DuraComm way. For a multitude of critical applications where Rack Mount components are used. DuraComm has developed this 19” Rack Mount Battery Back-up Module that is usable with 12, 24 and 48 VDC systems. It provides connection of 2 power sources so users can maintain “N+1” redundancy. Ideal for those applications when that glitch-free transfer to battery back-up, such as when normal AC power fails, is needed.

RLP Series—A Truly Integrated Power Solution

Rack Mount Power Supplies

Whether it is a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina or a Homeland Security alert, radio usage in emergency situations reaches unprecedented levels. Those communication systems, often used by First Responders, require dependable operation and battery back-up. DuraComm’s RM Series provides the required “N+1” Redundancy, for those applications where users just can’t afford to lose power or where it is just plain inconvenient, such as mountain top repeaters. This series has optional meters for voltage output. The 48 VDC versions are ideal for wireless Ethernet bridges, microwave radio and data transfer applications.

Desk Top Power Supplies

DuraComm’s LP (Low Profile) Series has been an international favorite for users of Desk Top Power Supplies ever since it was first introduced. It comes in a choice of output amperages (10, 14, 18 & 25) and can be matched with an LPBC-25 module (along with a suitable battery) to provide automatic battery back up during power failure, and float charge battery maintenance, when power is restored. Battery Management Systems

Need to upgrade your existing system and provide battery back-up but don’t want to buy a new power supply? The BMS Series is ideal for all AC to DC power supplies that don’t have built-in battery back-up capability. These units from DuraComm offer a total battery management system (rack mount) with a smart charger AND low voltage disconnect AND a diode isolation system. Highly recommended for Deep Cycle or Gel Cell Batteries, this series offers a seamless transfer to battery when power goes down. Each is only one rack unit high (1 ¾”) and can be used with 12, 24 or 48 VDC systems.

DPS Series (Power Source Utility)

This ultra-versatile unit was created to satisfy a need in the RV and limousine marketplace of having to power additional audio / visual equipment without relying on the vehicle’s battery for power. This is especially critical in tradeshow environments where the ancillary equipment can be on and running for 10-12 hours at a time. This workhorse of a power supply is filtered and regulated and offers LED diagnostic indicators on each of the many models. It becomes rack-mountable with the optional SL-Rack. The IQ-4 Smart Charging Unit allows you to monitor the standby battery terminal voltage and adjust the DPS output voltage as required to keep the battery fully charged without destructive over-charging.
