MIMO Mobile Antennas Provide Performance Advantages Over Traditional Diversity Systems
Mobile Mark’s new MIMO (Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output) mobile antenna consists of three identical antenna elements housed within a rugged radome. Each element is fed by a different cable and each element covers the entire 2.4-2.5 and 4.9-6.0 GHz spectrum. The antenna elements provide 4 dBi gain with a VSWR of less than 2:1.
With 1/4 wavelength element spacing and 20+ dB isolation, these units are configured for true MIMO performance improvements. The MIMO mobile antennas will stand up to harsh environments. They have a water ingress rating of IPx7 and have been tested to and passed Industry and Military shock and vibration standards: EN61373:1999, IEEE1478-2001, and MIL-STD-810G.
Attractive and Versatile Dome Mount Antennas
A growing number of fleet management applications combine GPS with Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Mobile Mark’s Dome Mount antennas combine these frequencies in an attractive and versatile package.
Available as surface mounts (DM-W15 Series) and mag mounts (MGD-W15 Series), the dome mount antennas have separate cable feeds for the GPS antenna and the data antenna. The data cable on these wide-band antennas covers 2.4-2.5 GHz and 4.9-6.0 GHz.
GPS and GSM/CDMA combinations, typically used for fleet management or mobile M2M (machine-to-machine), are also available as surface mounts (DM-U15) or mag mounts (MGD-U15). One cable covers GPS and the second cable covers 850 MHz and 1900 MHz.
For data-only applications, either antenna can be configured without GPS. The antenna would have a single cable covering the data frequencies.
GPS Antennas for Commercial Fleet Management
Commercial fleet management and vehicle telemetric systems typically require multiple wireless connections. Mobile Mark offers a wide range of GPS and multiband solutions.
For GPS-only applications, the SM-1575 surface-mount antenna provides an attractive and practical solution. The low-profile antenna is housed in a sturdy radome. The MAG-1575 mag-mount antenna is compact and provides an easily portable solution for temporary setups.
The CVS series tri-band antenna combines GPS with the 850/1900 MHz bands. This covert antenna can be mounted almost anywhere—inside a window, behind a rear-view mirror, or under the dashboard.
The SMW series surface-mount antenna provides separate RF cable feeds for up to four different channels. Combinations include GPS, voice/data 850/1900 MHz, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, and public safety 4.9 GHz.
Mobile Antennas for 4.9 GHz Public Safety
Mobile Mark's 4.9 GHz public safety mobile antennas are rugged, compact and attractive. Several models are available, allowing for either single or combination applications.
Body-Mount Antennas
The RM3-4900 body-mount antenna offers 3 dBi gain in a rugged, 3-inch tall radome. The DM2-4900 dome body-mount antenna provides similar gain in a shorter rounder radome. The DM series can also be combined with GPS. Both models are also available as mag mounts.

The multiband SMW series antennas combine two, three or four different antennas within the same radome. Typical applications include a two-cable antenna covering GPS and 4.9 GHz, a three-cable antenna covering GPS, Wi-Fi and cellular M2M, or a four-cable antenna covering GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular M2M and public safety 4.9 GHz. Other combinations are possible. SMW series antennas are also available as MGW mag-mount antennas.
Site Antennas for 4.9 GHz Public Safety
With a full family of 4.9 GHz public safety antennas, ranging from site antennas to vehicular antennas, Mobile Mark provides all the options needed for complete network coverage.
Mobile Mark site antennas include the omnidirectional ECO Series, available in 6, 9, and 12 dBi gain, the directional PN Series sectorized Panel antennas, in 16–22 dBi gain covering 30-120 degree sectors, and the directional SCR corner reflector antenna available in 14 dBi gain.
All of the Mobile Mark site antennas receive high marks for their compact sizes. The sectorized panel measures only 12.5 x 3 inches wide, which is significant when site antenna space is limited. The slender ECO Series omni antennas measure less than one inch in diameter and the corner reflector’s small aperture reduces wind loading.
Antennas for Wireless Video and Security Systems
Choosing an antenna with the right radiation pattern is critical an effective wireless surveillance network. Mobile Mark provides a range of directional and omni-directional antennas for wireless video and security systems operating at 2.4 GHz.
Directional applications are well served with the SCR14-2400 corner reflector antenna. This antenna features 35-degree azimuth coverage, broader than typically found with a yagi-style antenna with 14 dBi gain.
For omnidirectional wide-area network coverage, the rugged OD9-2400 antenna provides 9 dBi gain. OD Series antennas are also available in 3 and 6 dBi gain for tighter coverage and 12 dBi gain for wider coverage.
Some wireless applications require more of a cardiod-shaped coverage where the omnidirectional pattern is offset slight favoring coverage in one direction versus the other. This can be achieved with the ODR reflector kits that are easily attached to the antenna and provide effective beam shaping.
Omni Antennas for High-Vibration Applications
Mobile Mark, in addition to their highly recognized omnidirectional OD Series antennas, offers specialized antennas suitable for installations subject to harsh environments and high vibration. These rugged antennas are foam filled to minimize the risk of damage due to tough environments.
These heavy-duty omni antennas are available in 3 dBi and 6 dBi gain for Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) at 2.4 GHz. They are suitable for single site applications or as part of a network of antennas.
The antennas are ground-plane independent and can be mounted for either in-building or outside applications. They have also been installed on large mobile equipment operating both above and below ground.
Other Mobile Mark antennas are available for point-to-point coverage, in-building access points and portable applications.
