Canopy Portfolio 400 Series Offers Solution for Line-of-Sight Problems

Motorola has added to their leading Canopy wireless broadband system with the 400 series of access points and subscriber modules in the 5.4 GHz spectrum. Based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technology, which provides improved near-line-of-sight (nLOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) coverage, the Canopy 400 series allows network operators to extend broadband network coverage into urban areas where obstructions and foliage have limited system expansion.

    Complete Solution

By leveraging OFDM technology throughout the entire wireless network -- the access point, the subscriber module and the backhaul layer -- the Canopy 400 series significantly enhances overall network performance and reach. Furthermore, the modules offer higher throughputs, up to 21 Mbps, and extended range, accompanied with GPS synchronization to mitigate self interference.

OFDM-based access points and subscriber modules provide robustness, high performance, scalability, and ease of use to extend coverage and expand services. The features of the Canopy 400 series include the following:

    • nLOS and NLOS Coverage
    • Increased Throughput
    • Longer Range
    • GPS Synchronization
    • Simple Installation
