Airmux-5000RAD’s Airmux-5000 is a carrier-class, cost-effective multi-frequency, point-to-multipoint broadband wireless system. It includes a Base Station and Subscriber Units for transmitting Ethernet over an extensive range of frequency bands including the 4.9, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz bands. The soon-to-be-released version 3.2 will support the 3.3 to 3.8 GHz bands.

Unlike typical shared-bandwidth PtMP systems, the Airmux-5000 divides available sector bandwidth among up to 16 subscribers and guarantees throughput for each independently. A subscriber with poor connectivity cannot impact other subscribers on the system.

Ensuring the highest spectrum efficiency available in the market, Airmux-5000 delivers greater throughput over smaller channel bandwidth. High spectrum efficiency results in additional network revenue, reduced spectrum license fees and increased flexibility in frequency planning. Airmux-5000 is the ideal wireless system for business access users demanding high capacity throughput and Ethernet SLA assurance.

Ideal for any customer who needs to ensure guaranteed high-capacity throughput, low consistent latency and high reliability. Typical customers: Utilities, Transportation, Public Safety, ISPs.

RAD Airmux-400

Lower-Cost Alternative for Leased Line Replacement

In the past, it has been common practice for a business with multiple locations to lease lines from TELCOs or cable companies to provide bandwidth. In these situations, it is commonplace to have recurring service costs ranging from $600.00 to $1,000.00 per month. As the requirement for bandwidth utilization grows, as does the cost for leased line. These recurring charges are costly and limit the customer’s ability to scale as they grow.

The RAD Airmux-400 solution offers a hybrid architecture that supports both legacy TDM and high-capacity Ethernet. The Airmux-400 Solution can support up to 16 T1s and offer 100 Mbps of Ethernet capacity. Starting at less then $7,000.00 per link, this CAPEX Expenditure is expected to provide you with an ROI within seven months.

Great Value for Public Safety Backhaul and Security

Today, advanced wireless technology is playing an invaluable role in helping municipalities ensure Public Safety. All major departments, including fire, police, DOT, and county offices, are improving their ability to monitor and communicate with remote facilities. A video surveillance system is only as reliable as the network to which it is connected, so careful planning of the network technologies and equipment choices are crucial.
The RAD Airmux-400 Series Radio operates in the 4.9 GHz Public Safety band, and can be configured to offer a symmetric 50 Mbps Full-Duplex or an asymmetric 100 Mbps. The asymmetric feature of this radio is perfect in manipulating the up-stream and down-stream flow of IP Video and Control commands.

The Right Unlicensed Solution for WiMAX/LTE Backhaul

WiMAX operators must undertake substantial capital outlays to develop the necessary network infrastructure. The ultimate challenge is to decrease operators' total cost of ownership—a key factor in building and maintaining a viable and profitable business.

While much emphasis is placed on lowering access equipment costs, the impact of backhaul on overall costs is often overlooked. Incorporating a cost-effective backhaul strategy, though, will ultimately enable operators to significantly lower costs without compromising on service quality or performance.

The Airmux-400 broadband wireless multiplexer from RAD Data Communications is a high-capacity backhaul solution tailored to meet the needs of WiMAX operators and ISPs. Operating in unlicensed frequencies, the Airmux-400 provides up to 100 Mbps symmetrical throughput with a flexible combination of Ethernet, and up to 16 T1 ports. The solution combines advanced OFDM and MIMO technologies to offer an exceptionally robust air interface that can provide connectivity over distances of up to 75 miles. With support for multiband operation, the Airmux-400 is suited for use in a variety of different topologies and can operate in a variety of sub-6 GHz frequency bands—all within a single platform.

RAD’s Airmux-400 offers an unrivaled WiMAX backhaul solution that meets and even exceeds many operators’ business and technical requirements. Superior ease of installation and maintenance, coupled with attractive, competitive pricing, results in significantly reduced capital and operating expenses. This is how operators achieve fast return on investment, and enable their businesses to grow.

Get All-In-One Network Management Solutions with RAD Airmux-200

The versatile Airmux-200 point-to-point links provide native Ethernet and TDM transmission of up to a true user 18 Mbps full-duplex net throughput (36 aggregate). Advanced OFDM technology together with proprietary air protocol delivers optimal robustness and unmatched performance. Its interference-resistant mechanisms are specially designed for the sub-6GHz bands.

Their high-end links provide the same throughput and services as the standard Airmux-200 links, but they feature a higher dBm gain and are compatible with RAD's hub site synchronization technology, which allows for up to 8 point-to-point links to originate from a single location without creating any overlapping interference.

Reduce Costs and Improve Coordination by Extending Two-Way Radio over IP

For public safety agencies with no central monitoring of their fire, police, ambulance and other communications, it has been a major challenge to coordinate these disparate groups and make sure they can talk to each other. Other organizations managing two-way systems in fast-growing or remote areas have found it hard to extend their coverage fast enough to meet demands.

For a fraction of the cost of available repeater products, the RAD Airmux-200 broadband radio and IPmux-1E gateway delivers two-way radio traffic over wireless Ethernet links (PDF) in the 4.9 GHz band.
