Winter storm Uri has swept the U.S., bringing inclement weather conditions to more than 25 states across the country, ranging from southern Texas up to northern Maine. In efforts to help those affected by this major storm, AT&T supported recovery efforts and offered relief to customers in areas hit the hardest.
AT&T provided relief to its AT&T Wireless and AT&T PREPAID customers who have been impacted by storm Uri in Texas. Data overage charges were waived through February 26 to provide customers in thousands of zip codes throughout Texas with unlimited talk, text, and data. This included customers in affected areas such as Dallas, Frisco, Fort Worth, and Garland, to name a few.
To offer additional support for customers and first responders, AT&T also deployed network recovery equipment. AT&T’s team and FirstNet liaisons worked with federal, state, and local officials on recovery efforts, including deploying satellite cell sites on light trucks (SatCOLTs), generators to support numerous cell sites, and other recovery equipment to support the communities affected by Uri.
