Verizon recently released plans for expanding its 5G network across the U.S. with its C-band holdings. Verizon intends to invest an additional $10 billion into its 5G network over the next three years to offer 250 million Americans up to 1Gbit/s peak speeds by 2024.
According to Verizon, access to the faster 5G network will only be available to customers in the higher-priced premium, unlimited plans.
Verizon also noted that with this network upgrade, by 2024, it will be able to offer in-home broadband services to around 41 percent of the U.S., which is equivalent to about 50 million households and a sizeable increase for the company. In markets where Verizon launches its fixed wireless internet services, it anticipates gaining up to 20 percent, or more, customers.
Verizon expects its 5G efforts will help grow its overall corporate revenues by approximately 4 percent or more by 2024, which is more than the 2 percent growth it expects in 2021.
