Supplier Diversity

Diversity Services

At Tessco, we’re committed to developing relationships with diverse suppliers (comprised of MBE, WBE, and DVBE), HUBzone Small Business Concerns, and Section 8(a) entities.

A diverse supplier is categorized by several classifications, including, among others, minority, woman, veteran, or disabled veteran owned entities. These businesses must be at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by U.S. citizens who are one or more of the diversity classifications.

We look for diversity suppliers who:

  • Adhere to our high-quality standards, providing excellent service, competitive pricing, and innovative solutions and/or products
  • Have a minimum of three years of business history

We also work with HUBzone entities and Section 8(a) vendors. HUBzone entities are companies located within one or more qualified census tracts, qualified non-metropolitan counties, or lands within the external boundaries of an Indian reservation. For purposes of this HUBzone designation, Tessco recognizes small businesses that appear on the list of Qualified HUBzone Small Business Concerns, maintained by the SBA. Section 8(a) vendors are small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, which are certified by the SBA to participate in the Section 8(a) program.

How Can Tessco Help You with Your Diversity Requirements?

At Tessco, we source several manufacturer brands diversely and continue to add to the list:

Your purchases of these brands is done diversely and will enable you to report these as diversity spend. We also provide you with information needed, including reporting and certifications, to help you receive diversity credit from your customers.

Much of our product is procured through a platform owned by a diverse enterprise, which is certified as a minority-owned and woman-owned entity through the NMSDC and WBENC. They also own SBA, WOSB, HUB, and California Supplier Clearing House certifications. By buying from Tessco, you can allocate your spend to meet your customer’s diversity targets, such as 10 percent MBE and 10 percent WBE, for example.
