Tessco Supply Chain and Logistics Services to Continue Operations as “Essential Services” Provider
Multiple states have enacted “stay at home” orders effective immediately to curb the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Under the various orders, governors of these states have mandated that all residents are to ‘remain at home’ and only essential businesses may remain open to provide critical services. One of those critical services as defined by the Department of Homeland Security is the Communications Infrastructure sector. Consistent with the President’s guidelines: “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule”, Tessco remains open to serve our customers and provide support to our nation’s communications infrastructure needs.
Tessco provides critical equipment and vital services to fill the urgent needs of telecommunications companies, service providers, emergency responders, law enforcement, and defense and security personnel as well as thousands of private entities that similarly support these groups throughout the nation. Our company provides the equipment used to create the nation’s telecommunication infrastructure operated by national, regional, and local carriers. FirstNet and other public safety communications systems, two-way and mobile communications networks, internet, and cable communications are likewise reliant on the products and services we provide/distribute.
Therefore, our distribution centers will remain open and fully functional and our sales teams, engineers, and customer service people will remain available to continue to serve customers in fulfilling the critical telecommunications needs of the nation’s emergency responders, healthcare providers, federal, state, and local governments, and other industrial and financial services organizations assisting the people of the United States through this critical time.
We continue to operate with the vast majority of our workforce performing their duties from home while enforcing precautionary measures in all our distribution centers, in accordance with government and public health requirements, to reduce risk for colleagues who must be physically present in a Tessco facility to perform their duties.
