AT&T’s 5G network now covers more than 160 million people in 327 markets nationwide. The new markets span across 34 states providing access to approximately 40 million new consumers and businesses since just earlier this spring. At the same, AT&T announced the addition of the new Samsung Galaxy A71 phone featuring 5G connectivity to its mobile device offering.

New Markets

AT&T’s recent network expansion adds another 137 markets and includes some major metropolitan areas who now have access to 5G service on its unlimited wireless plans.

Chris Sambar, EVP of AT&T’s Technology Operations explained, “While many of us have been working from home for the past three months, AT&T’s network team continued to build and test our network so that we could emerge from this season with stronger, broader 5G coverage for our customers across the country.”

As the U.S. continues to navigate the impacts of COVID-19, Samber went on to say, “Whether it’s getting you back to work, back to school, or back to play, we’ve got you covered with the fastest wireless speeds in the nation.”

Among the many new markets, some notable cities were also included in the mix:

Samsung Galaxy A71 5G

On the same day AT&T rolled out 5G access to 137 new markets, consumers were also introduced to Samsung’s Galaxy A71 phone featuring 5G connectivity. The Galaxy A71 features a Super AMOLED Infinity Display, Quad Camera, 6GB RAM and 128GB base storage and a low cost, starting at only $599.99—making it the least expensive 5G phone in the U.S. currently. The device will be in stores on July 10 but is available for pre-order from AT&T today, and for a limited time, customers who order their phone from AT&T will receive a $100 Visa gift card.
