Anyone responsible for a LMR communications system knows that management of even just a single site can often be a complex task. If your system stops working properly and you don’t know what the problem is before scheduling a site visit, this could result in scheduling the wrong technician or tower crew, who may not have the correct equipment to fix the issue when they arrive.

Bird’s newest product addition provides a powerful monitoring solution for smaller radio communications systems and paging networks. Designed for smaller sites where the Bird 3141 Channel Power Monitor would be underutilized and connecting directly to the internet or private IP network, they can be accessed remotely for both setup and monitoring.

Both units are small and compact and only require the ability to connect to a network and AC power for the sensor.

4043E – Directional Power Sensor – Ethernet

Bird’s Ethernet-capable Directional Power Sensor models are installed post combiner. The 4043E series can generate alarms according to pre-configured parameters for forward power and minimum/maximum VSWR, which is then communicated to users with SNMP traps.

4042E – Channel Power Sensor – Ethernet

Bird’s Ethernet-capable Channel Power Sensor models can easily fit into installations that have several radios and a combining system. A 4042E sensor can be placed at the combiner output and each channel can be monitored.
