FirstNet, the nationwide wireless communications platform built with AT&T for the public safety community, now offers first responders four new mission-ready solutions designed to help enhance communications during times of emergency. These new communications tools, which are only available to FirstNet subscribers, include FirstNet MegaRange™, Z-Axis for FirstNet, FirstNet Compact Rapid Deployables™, and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Interoperability for FirstNet Push-to-Talk (PTT).
These new, innovative FirstNet solutions show major technological advancements for first responders, meeting their ever-evolving communication challenges and needs, while offering more capabilities, coverage, and capacity to stay connected during lifesaving missions.
FirstNet MegaRange™
Exclusively operates at a higher-power class on Band 14, substantially improving and providing better, more reliable connectivity at the edge of the network and in difficult coverage spots in urban and rural areas, like basements, elevators, and stairwells.
Z-Axis for FirstNet
Offers a ‘vertical axis’ view to two-dimensional indoor spatial awareness tools, allowing first responders to not only pinpoint where team members are in a building, but also how high up in the building they are. Z-Axis is now available in over 105 markets across the U.S.
FirstNet Compact Rapid Deployables™ (CRD)
Allows public safety agencies to purchase their own deployable network assets, called Cells on Wheels (COW). The CRDs connect to FirstNet through satellite, meaning they do not rely on commercial power, making them the perfect communication solution where connectivity may be sparse or unavailable.
LMR Interoperability for FirstNet PTT
The first PTT solution launched nationwide now supports LMR-to-LTE interoperability, enabling first responders utilizing LMR to communicate with others on FirstNet PTT.
