Initial Commercial Deployments (ICDs) of CBRS are expected to occur sometime this summer.
Like many vendors, Motorola Solutions is ready to roll in the Citizens Broadband Radio Services (CBRS) band for their Enterprise customers as soon as the Federal Communications Commission green-lights commercial services.
Motorola sees CBRS deployments as ripe for many of their customer markets, which include public safety, hotels, hospitals, stadiums, factories, and arenas. The applications that can leverage CBRS are plentiful and growing.
Jerry Gard, director of engineering at Motorola Solutions, says, “We think the customer experience with a CBRS-based LTE system in a private enterprise is going to be a superior experience to probably what they’re getting today with Wi-Fi. It’s just another option.” Another leader at Motorola Solutions, John Zidar – corporate vice president of the North America Commercial, Channel & Carrier at Motorola Solutions – further comments, “The possibilities are endless.”
