The Rajant BreadCrumb® has made news headlines for protecting three major events that have gathered international attention. In fact, Rajant’s portfolio of Kinetic Mesh® technologies is often considered the top priority for public safety organizations and authorities due to its ability to address the requirements necessary to enable secure solutions and reliable communications. Their surveillance units also have the flexibility to operate on very short notice if required or can be used for large events – including those which involve public figures such as royalty, VIP visitors, and more.

The UK Police forces have worked closely with Rajant to secure the royal weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in Windsor, along with the annual Royal Ascot Race Meeting in Berkshire, England. The events called for additional security cameras along the processional route to and from Windsor Castle during the ceremony at St. George’s Chapel for the two royal weddings that were set five months apart.

Rajant supplied wireless infrastructure for secure and stable closed-circuit television (CCTV) for the purposes of enhancing video surveillance coverage. The smoothly integrated Kinetic Mesh technology allowed for larger amounts of video data to be provided with high throughput and low latency across the network – IP cameras were also used to facilitate multiple viewers and imagery fed into multiple control rooms.

Royal Ascot had approximately 300,000 racegoers expected to attend, which included The Queen, additional royals, celebrities, and other high-profile guests. Since safety was the highest priority, the racecourse acted in a concerted effort with the Police, Security Services, and specialist advisers to implement security measures where necessary. This implementation also included visible security measures to foster a safe environment for the races, as Rajant’s wireless mesh technology consistently created solutions for CCTV that was either difficult to reach or not already served by installed cameras and networks.

The Force successfully carried out the installation of the Rajant BreadCrumbs for Princess Eugenie’s wedding and Royal Ascot after its initial deployment at Prince Harry’s wedding. This highlights the ease in which Rajant’s network technology can be deployed when considering how rapidly this process was integrated. In addition, all three events prioritized the implementation of additional CCTV systems for police and security surveillance.

Regarding the outcomes, Rajant’s network technology demonstrated competency in four key ways:

• The first is speed and ease of deployment. Due to the resiliency, high bandwidth, and low latency of Rajant’s nodes, the network was able to be deployed in any location deemed necessary.
• The second outcome focuses on the Rajant Network’s built-in security that ranges from entry level AES 128-bit security to military grade encryption.
• Interconnection with the Police LAN – and potentially with other existing network systems – is the third benefit that Rajant was able to deliver.
• Finally, one of the frequencies provided for police use was a specifically licensed frequency that ensured interference from public use of Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 5GHz was minimized. The Police offered positive feedback to the quality of CCTV footage over the Rajant network compared to previous attempts that used standard COFDM solutions. It was also several seconds faster than television broadcasting imagery.
