T-Mobile recently expanded its 2.5 GHz spectrum coverage to 121 new locations across the U.S. Working towards its goal of deploying mid-band 5G to thousands of cities and towns by the end of 2020, T-Mobile has reached a total of 210 locations since April, when it acquired the 2.5 GHz frequencies after its merger with Sprint.

According to T-Mobile, the mid-band spectrum is the perfect mix of both coverage and speed, bringing consumers speeds that are on average 7.5x faster than current LTE. The 2.5 GHz spectrum is said to deliver speeds around 300 Mbps, on average, and peak speeds of up to 1 Gbps. In addition to adding new locations to the rollout, T-Mobile has also added additional towers and more spectrum to areas it has already deployed the 2.5 GHz spectrum, such as New York City, NY.
