AT&T was chosen by the U.S. Army to deliver FirstNet services for public safety personnel across 72 Army locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The Army made this decision after seeing the benefits and success of the FirstNet pilot program and testing conducted at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, NC, earlier this spring.

AT&T was first awarded the 25-year FirstNet contract to deploy and maintain the network in 2017. With this new rollout, AT&T is going to provide the public safety community nearly 3,200 FirstNet lines of service, 3,000 FirstNet-capable devices, more than 700 signal boosters for increased indoor connectivity, staging and kitting services for devices, and much more.

FirstNet is the only dedicated communications network for first responders and public safety professionals nationwide. With FirstNet, the goal is to enhance public safety communications with advanced solutions designed to improve incident response, enabling first responders to disseminate information easier and faster in times of emergency.
