Digital Connectivity for State Transportation Department

Customer Need:

This customer wanted to be digitally connected to its many buses throughout their metropolitan region to enable smart location services, payment processing, video surveillance, real-time access, and other services that support the communities’ need.

Tessco Solution:

Tessco worked with the deployment partner in identifying the infrastructure needed to support a wireless connected solution involving over 690 buses. Tessco supplied turn-key kitted solutions in support of the deployment partner’s smooth execution and completion of the project for the customer.

Benefits to Customer:

The customer now has the wireless connected infrastructure to build upon and implement smart bus stops where they can provide riders with updates on expected bus arrivals, allow smart buses to transact credit card payments, and provide the customer’s home office with real time visibility of activities occurring on buses in order to prepare for any unexpected issues, delays, or emergencies
that need to be addressed.
